What is your favorite thing about being a Junior Handler?
My favorite part of being a Junior Handler is the lessons that you learn inside and outside of the ring. This sport has taught me so many valuable things not only about myself, but also about navigating the world around me outside of dog shows.
What advice would you give to someone curious about getting involved in Junior Handling?
My advice to anyone new to Junior Handling, or even handling dogs in general would be to always surround yourself with the right people. The people that you meet in this sport can impact your experience so much. Remember to find people who support you no matter how things go, and learn from them.
Is there anything you would like to say about the dog show world?
The world of dog showing can be difficult and frustrating sometimes, but it can also be so rewarding. Getting to build a stronger connection with your dog, meeting amazing people, and making all of those memories makes all of the hard work pay off.

What is your age? 14
When did you start Junior Handling? I started Junior Handling last year with my Beauceron.
What is your favorite dog breed? Beaucerons are incredibly special to me, however I love every herding breed. I couldn’t think of another group of breeds that are more intelligent and versatile.
Do you show dogs for other people as well? If so, what other breeds do you show? I often show dogs for other people when needed. I primarily have experience with herding breeds, but I always love the opportunity to handle any dog.
How many shows do you compete in per year? I usually attend at least three or four shows per month depending on how long each of them are.
How important is your connection with the dog you are showing? The connection that I have with my dog is incredibly important to me. She is my first show dog and I am beyond grateful to have her. I would never be where I am now without her.
